Biography

Leslie Claire Walker’s romance with story began at a very young age with books that made her fall in love — with characters so rich they felt like real people. With far off, exotic places. With problems so impossible to solve. The pages practically turned themselves.
Those stories were a lot of fun to read. They also led to thinking. And that thinking led to a different view of the world. She wondered to herself whether she might be able to spark all those things for someone else.
Then she took a beginning fiction writing class. She’s been at it ever since.
Her short fiction has appeared in the DAW Books anthologies Crime Spells, Cosmic Cocktails, and Hags, Sirens, and Other Bad Girls of Fantasy. She has sold stories to Fantasy Magazine, Chiaroscuro, and Electric Velocipede, among other great magazines. She has also been hard at work on novels.
When she’s not writing or reading, she can be found walking the Doggie Ranger, drinking too much tea, cooking and baking (gluten-free – always an adventure, and mostly tasty), practicing on her harp, dancing, or stirring up trouble (ahem, fun) with friends.
She is mildly obsessed U2. Also with the outdoors, movies, music, art, and anything and everything conjured up by Joss Whedon.
She’s been mightily influenced by Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Dean Wesley Smith, Stephen King, Guy Gavriel Kay, S. E. Hinton, Walter Farley, Nora Roberts, Mr. Whedon, and a host of other wonderful writers.
